Waitangi Treaty Grounds

Last Tuesday Paihia School walked to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. We did this fun activity it was called Manu aute. The coolest activity I liked was the kite making, my buddy was Missy, we just started straight away, Missy would do the weaving and I would do the tying, it was so fun. It was so fun and exciting walking to the Treaty Grounds and learning things I never knew about, I hope we get to do it again next year.

Tim Tipene

Last Thursday an Author called Tim Tipene came to Paihia School. What I really enjoyed about Tim Tipene was that he was really funny and he had heaps of expression while he was reading one of his books and he told us how he became an author. I only know 3 of his books. One of them are Taming the Taniwha, Hinemoa Te Toa and Bullies of Warriors.

General Knowledge

Last week I was learning to find information about our chosen country. I think we did well at using map skills to find locations, read the text to make connections with different countries and cultures and scan the text for key information . My group and I really enjoyed looking for information and finding out stuff that we never knew before. Thank you

18 year old girl Alexis

Alexis- 18 year old cop/village girl
Once upon a time a girl named Alexis lived in a cabin in a very little village, she was so wild and adventurous, she loved to fight crimes at night because she was a cop.

One afternoon, Alexis was going out for an afternoon run, when she ran out the door, she saw a group of people breaking into an old lady’s house. She didn’t know what to do because there was no one around to help her.  She didn’t know what to do so she decided

to do it by herself.

Don Don Don…

She tiptoed over to the window and peeked through to see what they were up to, then she ran home and she looked everywhere for her police uniform because her handcuffs were in her uniform. So she ran out the door and carefully sneaking through the little old lady’s house when she found the group of people she tiptoed all the way by them. “ Put your hands behind your back and don’t move em,” said Alexis.  She called the police station for backup and they came as fast as lightning. They arrested the group of people and Alexis was the hero of the day.

HIP HIP HORRRRRAAAAAAYYYYY

THE END!!!
Last week I made a narrative story, I was learning to use speech marks and commas in my writing. I was learning to use the  correct narrative structure in my writing and write a descriptive writing to make it into an animation.

The Most Funniest Day Ever

Last Wednesday Te Ngahere went down to The Beach for the surf life saving. The lifeguards names were Liam, Toobs and Sam. They told us about 10 important things, what a surf life saver does and what was the equipment. We played loads of games and had heaps of learning. It was fun.
